The Diploma in Islamic Banking (DIB) is benchmarked at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland (UK).
The Diploma comprises five modules and twenty-three lessons, each concluding with assessment questions. The final lesson introduces the concept of insurance in Islam, highlighting its role in supporting lending operations and as an additional source of Shari’ah-compliant, interest-free income for Islamic banks.
Each lesson includes an assessment consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) designed to evaluate students’ understanding of key concepts and their practical application. This modern assessment method replaces traditional long-form essays, providing a broader and more efficient evaluation of knowledge across each topic.
Examination and Grading
Instead, each lesson concludes with an online Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) assessment. This modern assessment method allows students’ knowledge to be tested across a wide range of topics without the need for lengthy essay assignments.
MCQ examinations are automatically graded, ensuring fairness, consistency, and prompt results.
Students must successfully complete all lesson assessments before the qualification can be awarded. Where necessary, and at the discretion of the Institute, a second attempt may be permitted.
Grading
Grades recognise different levels of achievement:
- A – Distinction (Excellent performance)
- B – Pass
- C – Fail
The minimum pass mark is 60%.
Upon successful completion, the Institute will issue the certificate for the relevant qualification.
