What is Halal?
Halal means lawful or permitted. It is used to refer to things and actions that are permitted by Islamic law for a muslim to do without being pusnished. When it comes to food, Halal refers to food that is permissible according to Islamic law.
The Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia or JAKIM) described halal food to be “Halal is defined as food not made of, or containing parts of animal origin which Islamic law forbids to be consumed. Food is Halal if it does not contain or come into contact with anything regarded as filth e.g. carrion, alcohol, pork, blood, feaces, and urine. It must also be prepared, processed or manufactured using equipment untainted by anything unclean.”
Halal was traditional used to refer to food, but now halal certification has been extended to cover goods and services including clothing, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and tour packages.

What is Halal Certification?
Halal certification is process starts whereby giibic and its partners accredited by International Halal Accreditation Board visit and audit a company and ensure that the company’s production or manufacturing processes meet halal standards set by Organization for Islamic Council (OIC) called General Standards and Guidelines for Halal Food
Once the production, its environment, as well as the its finish product meet the halal standards, giibic and its partners issue halal certificate to the company.
The company can then use halal logo and display at its facilities, point of sale or on product labels.
Afterwards Giibic and partner, will visit the company periodically to ensure that the company keep its compliance to the halal standards.
